Hezbollah Fires Ballistic Missile At Mossad HQ
Hezbollah says the strike was in response to the exploding pager attacks in Lebanon last week and the assassination of the group’s leaders.
Hezbollah has said it fired a Qader 1 ballistic missile at the Mossad intelligence agency headquarters in Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning.
The Lebanese militant group says the strike on Israel’s spy agency was in response to the exploding pager attacks in Lebanon last week and the assassination of the group’s leaders.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the attack on central Israel was unsuccessful and that it had intercepted the missile. There were no reports of casualties or damage.
Hezbollah reportedly launched dozens of rockets into Israel, but the longer-range projectile missile, the Qader 1, is what set off air raid sirens in Tel Aviv.

In a statement, the Iranian-backed group claimed that it conducted the strike in support of the people of Gaza and in “defense of Lebanon and its people.”
The Lebanese political group confirmed the death of Ibrahim Kobeisi, one of its top commanders who worked on the group’s rocket and missile unit, on Tuesday after he was reportedly killed during an airstrike in a southern Beirut suburb.
The bombing that has taken place in Lebanon since Monday has taken more than 500 lives and caused thousands of injuries. The airstrikes this week have also caused many to flee the country.
The launch of the Qader 1 ballistic missile is the first time that Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for a missile strike since its yearlong battle with Israel began.
The IDF also said that this is the first time a Hezbollah missile has reached Tel Aviv, although it was struck down by Israel’s defense system.
Al Arabiya, a Saudi state-owned international Arabic news television channel, reported that the missile was specifically aimed at the Glilot military intelligence compound in Israel. The news outlet also reported that there were no reports of damage or casualties in central Israel.
Hezbollah and Israel have been engaging in cross-border conflict since the Israel-Hamas war began in October 2023.
Israel’s military has said it will do “whatever is necessary” to push back Hezbollah and keep the group away from Lebanon’s border with Israel.
The IDF has said that it also intercepted a drone from Syria on Wednesday morning over the Sea of Galilee.
