San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings has the fantasy football world talking about his jaw-dropping Week 3 performance.
How can fantasy football managers use Jennings’ impressive outing as leverage on the trade market?
Remember, you want to sell high and buy low, not chase inflated player value.
Right now, Jennings and a couple of other top fantasy performers have stocks that are in demand.
Let’s examine the outlook and value of these player stocks ahead of Week 4.

Brandon Aiyuk, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Week 3: 5 catches, 48 yards
2024 Season: 11 catches, 119 yards
After missing several practices while in contract negotiations with the 49ers this past offseason, Aiyuk isn’t quite up to speed. He hasn’t accumulated more than 48 receiving yards in any of the team’s three games.
However, with wideout Deebo Samuel set to miss weeks of action because of a calf injury, tight end George Kittle dealing with a hamstring issue and star running back Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve, Aiyuk will likely see the double-digit targets in San Francisco’s offense for the foreseeable future.
With Brock Purdy under center last season, Aiyuk caught 75 passes for a career-high 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns, while Samuel, Kittle and McCaffrey were mostly healthy. He should bounce back sooner than later.
Buy Aiyuk for: Amari Cooper, George Pickens, Jaylen Waddle
Josh Downs, WR, Indianapolis Colts
Week 3: 3 catches, 22 yards
2024 Season: 3 catches, 22 yards
In his season debut, Downs tied Michael Pittman Jr. for most targets (five) among Colts pass-catchers, which is a good sign for his second-year outlook.
As draftmates last year, quarterback Anthony Richardson and Downs built a connection before the former underwent season-ending shoulder surgery last October.
In three full games that Richardson played last season, Downs averaged five targets per contest.
Richardson leads the league in 40-plus-yard completions with five. Because of his big arm, Colts receivers don’t need a ton of receptions to post gaudy numbers. Downs isn’t a routine field-stretcher, but he’ll see enough targets to potentially rack up yards.
Buy Downs for: Cole Kmet, Romeo Doubs, Khalil Shakir
Jameson Williams, WR, Detroit Lions
Week 3: 1 catch, 9 yards, 1 carry, -7 yards
2024 Season: 11 catches, 209 yards, TD; 3 carries, 21 yards
In Week 3, Williams had a dud fantasy performance, though this isn’t the time to trade or dump him. He still leads the Lions in receiving yards and ranks second on the team in targets (23).
Also, tight end Sam LaPorta exited the previous game with a sprained ankle. If he misses time, Williams could see an uptick in targets.
Lastly, though it resulted in a net loss of yardage in the previous outing, the Lions’ willingness to use Williams as a ball-carrier could provide a few additional fantasy points in any given week.
Buy Williams for: Quentin Johnston, Christian Kirk, DeAndre Hopkins

Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers
Week 3: 21 carries, 114 yards, 5 catches, 55 yards, TD
2024 Season: 37 carries, 192 yards, 9 catches, 67 yards, TD
Last week, Hubbard recorded a career-high 169 scrimmage yards and his second-highest rushing yards total in a game. Though he should be more efficient with his carries because quarterback Andy Dalton will force defenders to respect the Panthers’ aerial attack, rookie second-rounder Jonathon Brooks will eventually cut into his workload.
Carolina placed Brooks on the non-football injury list. He has to miss one more week before he’s eligible to play in games.
Don’t wait for Brooks’ return to trade Hubbard. He’s not going to have a performance much better than his outing against the Las Vegas Raiders’ bottom-tier run defense. Sell his stock at its peak.
Sell Hubbard for: Bucky Irving, Trey Benson, Carson Steele
Jauan Jennings, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Week 3: 11 catches, 175 yards, 3 TDs
2024 Season: 18 catches, 276 yards, 3 TDs
Jauan Jennings is the biggest fantasy star of Week 3 with a video-game-like stat line, racking up 46.5 fantasy points.
If you are someone who invested in Jennings’ stock amid trade rumors swirling around Aiyuk this past offseason, congratulations. You can add him to a trade package to tip a deal in your favor or offer his stock to another team in exchange for a buy-low target.
Deebo Samuel isn’t on injured reserve, so he could suit up within the next couple of weeks. McCaffrey will be eligible to return in Week 6. Kittle, who missed the previous outing with a hamstring injury, hasn’t sat out consecutive weeks since the first two games of the 2022 term.
Cash in on Jennings’ stock before the 49ers get healthy on offense, and he sees a drop in target share.
Sell Jennings for: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rome Odunze, Jake Ferguson
Cole Kmet, TE, Chicago Bears
Week 3: 10 catches, 97 yards, TD
2024 Season: 15 catches, 128 yards, TD
After a quiet start to the season, Kmet broke out in Week 3, finishing as TE2 in fantasy scoring.
Even though Kmet has been the Bears’ lead tight end for the past three years, Gerald Everett, who has a history playing under offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, could see a decent target share as rookie quarterback Caleb Williams gets comfortable in the offense.
Kmet has only had one outing that topped his receiving numbers from Week 3, which indicates that he won’t be able to follow up with another standout performance anytime soon.
Sell Kmet for: Blake Corum, Xavier Legette, Isaiah Likely

Tyrone Tracy Jr., RB, New York Giants
Week 3: 5 carries, 23 yards; 2 catches, 17 yards
2024 Season: 8 carries, 27 yards; 3 catches, 22 yards
The Giants are gradually ramping up Tracy’s workload. In Week 3, he had seven touches, nearly double the number of touches from the previous two weeks combined.
While managers in point-per-reception leagues may want to hold on to Devin Singletary because of his high touch volume (17 per game), keep an eye on Tracy as the Giants potentially expand his role over the next few weeks. Both running backs could be fantasy assets in an offense in need of playmakers.
Tutu Atwell, WR, Los Angeles Rams
Week 3: 4 catches, 93 yards
2024 Season: 7 catches, 141 yards
The Rams placed Puka Nacua on injured reserve. He’ll miss four games and could return to action in Week 7. Cooper Kupp is out with an ankle injury, though the team didn’t place him on injured reserve.
While Nacua and Kupp are out, Los Angeles needs a receiver or two to fill a big void in its passing game. Last Sunday, against the San Francisco 49ers, Atwell led the club in receptions (four) and receiving yards (93).
Next week, Demarcus Robinson, Tyler Johnson or Jordan Whittington could top the Rams’ box score in multiple receiving categories. That said, Atwell’s experience in head coach Sean McVay’s system gives him an advantage over his teammates for a prominent role in the absence of Nacua and Kupp.
Managers should hold on to Atwell and see how the Rams’ receiver corps performs next week against the Chicago Bears.
Michael Wilson, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Week 3: 8 catches, 64 yards
2024 Season: 11 catches, 100 yards, TD
Michael Wilson could be a viable short-term fantasy option if you don’t have either of Kyler Murray’s top two targets, Marvin Harrison Jr. or Trey McBride, on your roster.
Every week, Wilson has seen in an uptick in his receiving opportunities and production across multiple categories.
McBride was evaluated for a concussion during the fourth quarter of the Cardinals’ previous game. He’s averaging seven targets per outing. If McBride misses time, Wilson may see a slightly higher volume of targets.
