Who is Kim Porter? What was her relationship with Diddy like, how she died and what were her last words?
Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ children have publicly spoken for the first time following his recent arrest on sex-related charges, but instead of addressing the accusations against their father, they focused on shutting down rumors surrounding their late mother, Kim Porter. In their statement, the Combs children, including Christian, 26, and twin sisters Jessie and D’Lila, 17, expressed outrage over what they referred to as “vicious conspiracy theories” about Porter.
Porter had a long relationship with the music mogul between 1994 and 2007, during which they had their three children.
Porter, who died suddenly in 2018 at the age of 47 due to lobar pneumonia, also had an older son, Quincy, 33, with her ex-husband, singer Al B. Sure! Diddy adopted Quincy when he was just a toddler.
The family’s statement follows the release of a questionable memoir that has stirred controversy. The self-published book, released in early September, claims to have been written by Porter before her untimely death. However, the Combs children have firmly discredited the memoir, labeling it a complete fabrication.
Their statement
The 59-page memoir, titled Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice, from the Other Side…, has topped Amazon’s Best Sellers list, despite doubts about its authenticity. The author, using the pseudonym Jamal T. Millwood, has been linked by some conspiracy theorists to Tupac Shakur, who they claim is still alive.
“We have seen so many hurtful and false rumors circulating about our parents, Kim Porter and Sean Combs’ relationship, as well as about our mom’s tragic passing, that we feel the need to speak out,” they wrote in a joint statement published on Instagram.
“Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not. And anyone claiming to have a manuscript is mispresenting themselves.
“While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon. The cause of her death has long been established. There was no foul play.
“We are deeply saddened that the world has made a spectacle of what has been the most tragic event of our lives. Our mother should be remembered for the beautiful, strong, kind, and loving woman she was. Her memory should not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories.”
